Astrology is the language of the universe. Just like any language, it can be learned.
Everything in nature moves in cycles: the seasons, the moon, the sun, other planets, our bodies, sound, water, etc. By tuning in to the cycles, astrology helps us live in flow with life, rather than swimming against the current.
“Almost every season of your life could potentially be defined (and enhanced) by the continual movement of the stars.” — Astrohub
You can work with this astrological wisdom, to grow, heal, and evolve on your soul journey.
I don’t watch the news, however, I tune into astrology daily, weekly, and quarterly — and now I even check in yearly to see what’s coming up and what to look out for. I like to joke that astrology is my news. It helps look at the world from a way more open perspective.

The first way I learned to connect with the moon was by going to my first moon circle, so if that was you, congrats!
The next step was connecting to my moon cycle, the menstrual cycle. There’s much to say about this. For now, if you're interested in learning more, you can read an article I wrote years ago about my journey with this here.
The next recommendation would be to begin connecting with the New Moon and Full Moon.
New Moons are a time to set intentions and Full Moons are a time of release.
When you set intentions with the new moon, you're setting intentions for the next 2 weeks, 6 months, or one year+ cycles.
I love to journal and document so that I can come back and see what themes I've been working with and what has eventually manifested or what is still showing up as being in the way of those manifestations (which is what to release on full moons). You can come back to the moon again and again to see where you are at with your journey. Each astrological season has us looking at different areas of our life and different archetypal energies.
Tip: Make time in your calendar for this as a self-care ritual once or twice a month.
A few years ago I began working with Spirit Daughter's workbooks to learn about each season, each new moon and full moon — and started sharing them with friends and holding circles. If it interests you, then this is a great way to start.
Here is an example of Spirit Daughter's Gemini Season + New Moon Workbook and Spirit Daugther's Full Moon in Sagittarius Workbook
It's one thing to learn this stuff, it's another thing to begin to embody what you learn and see what's true about it for you and your lived experience. This is how I've been learning. It's a gradual process.
Other tips:
It's helpful to take an astrology 101 class to begin to grasp the language of the stars
Get a natal/birth chart reading to understand yourself better
Get to know your natal chart so you can see where transits like the moon and other planets are happening in your chart. Here's a helpful video: How to Find Where Current Transits Affects You in Your Birth Chart (11 min)
Important Tip: Have your exact birth time, or things can get messy. If you don't know it, check the hospital you were born at for records or you can get a birth time rectification through a Vedic astrologer (I had to do that!)
Keep a special eye out for eclipse seasons which happen twice a year and explores themes of the same axis for about an 18 month cycle
Explore honoring the quarterly cycles of the Spring Equinox, Summer Solstice, Fall Equinox, and Winter Solstice
Become aware that the Astrological New Year begins with the Aries Season!
Gather in moon circles! Create your own with the support of Spirit Daughter workbooks or come to one of mine

Chani: She's amazing. Has a short weekly podcast called Astrology of the Week Ahead on the energies of this time. I like to listen to it on Mondays to see what's up. Or if I didn't get to it Monday, it's also nice to listen later in the week and self-reflect on the week that passed, as a way to learn and embody my lived experience.
Chani app: Highly recommend her app! It's fantastic. Just be careful because she uses the whole house system and from my experience that doesn't always resonate or align depending on your birth time, so it's good to know your chart.
Chani book: You Were Born for This: Astrology for Radical Self-Acceptance — get to know yourself better, she does this in a super simple and easy to understand way
Moonomens: Also a huge huge fan. They have great blog posts on all astrological happenings as well as bi-weekly youtube videos for the new moon and full moon that's very deep and profound! I also recently joined their membership to receive their seasonal workbooks as all astrologers have different interpretations and I enjoy theirs.
I learned Evolutionary Astrology and this is a great book to have on your shelf: The Inner Sky: How to Make Wiser Choices for a More Fulfilling Life by Steven Forrest who is the grandfather of evolutionary astrology and he's still alive today.
Housing system: I use this: https://www.forrestastrology.com/blogs/astrology/why-i-use-placidus-houses
So there you have it, lots of info in true Gemini fashion (I’m writing this at the beginning of Gemini season, which Jupiter just entered.)
Maybe it's information overload for you, maybe not —eitherway now you have it. Start with a small step that calls to you and drop the rest.
Would love to know how this landed for you. If you have any comments or questions about the above — leave a comment below!
